EDF Energy again declared their support for The Journalists' Charity at the London and South of England Media Awards at London Zoo on Thursday, October 23.
Peter Hofman, Director of Sustainable Energy at EDF, presented a cheque for £500 to Trustee Bill Newman. Contributions in table envelopes were still being counted as we went to press.
Peter also described the work of the fund to 200 regional journalists,
saying we were"the only reliable, voluntary source of help if things go wrong."
Newcomer Journalist of the Year was trainee Sunday Mirror reporter Nev Wilson who also collected the Weekly Print Journalist of The Year award. The News Portsmouth won four prizes including Front Page. Daily Newspaper of the Year was won by The Argus, Brighton.
