Financial help

How can the Journalists’ Charity help?

We are here to help journalists and their dependants who, because of sickness, accident or other unforeseen circumstance, need help. This includes those who meet the criteria but have left journalism.

Our aim is to give financial support to meet a need rather than preserve a particular lifestyle and we cannot subsidise those who, in the longer term, find it difficult to make a living from journalism unless through illness or other misfortune.

Help may be in the form of one-off cash grants or regular payments.

For further details please contact the office on 01306 8877511 or by email enquiries@journalistscharity.org.uk (enquiries null@null journalistscharity NULL.org NULL.uk).

I just wanted to thank you and everyone at the charity for all your help since my diagnosis in 2006.

They’ve been very tough years, particularly on the financial front, and I don’t think I would have coped as well were it not for your generous gestures.

I felt not only financially supported by the fund but also emotionally as you often took the time to listen and advise me on my difficult situation.
Thank you all so very much.
