Annual Press Ball organised by the Journalists’ Charity Scotland
A PRIVATE box for eight at the Royal Albert Hall, business class return flights to New York and cases of Champagne were among the prizes handed to winning guests at the annual Press Ball organised by the Journalists’ Charity Scotland on Saturday March 4th.
Almost 300 journalists, PRs and business leaders attended the bash at Glasgow’s Radisson Hotel, which raised thousands for the charity. Headline sponsors Camelot made a substantial donation, as well as providing scratchcards for the tables at the event. The Ball was generously supported by Lidl, who provided wine for the evening, and many of the charity’s partners donated magnificent prizes for the raffle.
Andy Harries, Journalists’ Charity Scotland chairman, opened the evening with a short speech about the charity and the important work it does for journalists and their dependants. He said: ‘It was fantastic night and I was delighted we were able to raise so much money for the charity. It was good to see journalists from all of the country’s media houses partying together and the brilliant support we had from key figures in our own industry, as well as many of the charity’s partners, meant the night was a great success.’
