The Journalists’ Charity and is organising its first event ever in North Wales in November – An Evening with John Sergeant.
Held at the Village St David’s Hotel, Ewloe, on Friday 3 November, it will be a dinner in the company of key business people and representatives of the media with one of television’s great raconteurs reflecting on his 35 years in the media spotlight.
Organised in conjunction with Comtek – Sorrento Networks, a Flintshire -based company which provides repairs, spares and support to the telecoms, datacoms, and network service industry, it aims to be a major networking opportunity for businesses from North Wales and the North West.
Veteran journalist and broadcaster John Sergeant has a wealth of funny anecdotes, featuring some of the best known political figures of our time. This event offers you the opportunity to experience, at first hand, his mordant wit, keen sense of the absurd and acute powers of analysis.
John started his career as a young reporter on the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo and went on to work for the BBC, becoming chief political correspondent, political editor of ITN and a much sought after celebrity guest on programmes such as Have I Got News for You, Room 101, Radio 4’s The News Quiz and, of course, Strictly Come Dancing. He has covered wars, general elections, political triumphs and disasters, and has been the man on the spot in most of the major news stories over the last 20 years.
Tickets for the event are £70 each or £650 for a table of 10, to include a welcome drink and a three-course meal, and are available on Eventbrite.
Limited top table tickets are also available for £150 each – please email email@example.com for details.
